Hi! Hello! Hey there, well hasn’t it been a while! And life certainly isn’t any more ’normal’ than when I wrote Emilia‘s Birthday Blog!

Not much has been happening here. But one thing I just HAD to write about was out major kitchen renovation!

When we bought our home in 2018, the kitchen was a big selling point for me. A big open kitchen-diner (in the form as a conservatory). A big, bright, spacious, shaker style kitchen. It was glorious - even more so, because both of our rental’s previously had smaller less appealing kitchens!

After 12 months, I tried convincing Phil that it was time to renovate it. But he continued with ‘it‘ll do a little while longer!’. It wasn’t until I had Florence & lockdown came that he began to notice the extent of the damage in the kitchen, because he was cooking more and using it more.

The time came, he agreed to get a quote on the kitchen. And before we knew it, the quote turned into choosing taps and sinks and getting a date booked in.

This is the biggest job we’ve done in the house! And it was honestly worth every penny!

We had the entire old kitchen ripped out, flooring included. We had structural work done to open up the chimney breast to accommodate a range cooker. We designed a kitchen that looked totally different to the previous one, but works SO well for our family (for example, open shelving, larder cupboards and, Phil’s favourite, the island/breakfast bar).

We went with a company called IMAC Building and Joinery. They’re a Crosby based company and... OMDays, were they incredible! (I spoke so highly of them that my Auntie & Uncle booked them in to do their kitchen before they’d even begun ours!)

I am incredibly thankful for the Ian, John & the guys at IMAC, as well as their contractors for creating our stunning kitchen! As they said, they put dreams in homes!

All that is left for us to do is to choose some tiles and get them fitted!

Here it is, our beautiful kitchen... from start to finish!
